YTL Headquarters

KLoé Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

For this project, we worked closely with the client and we commissioned artworks by emerging local artists that complimented the ‘home for creatives and curious’ in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Not only every room features a local artist, but this boutique hotel truly celebrates the best and brightest creatives and artisans by engaging architect firm Domaine Architects, Nala Designs for branding, Metisse Maison, LAIN for handcrafted furniture, and Studio Kanta for way finding. There are also five artists lofts, outfitted in collaboration with influencers in the fields of art, music, food, plants and books and allow guests to indulge their creative impulses in the privacy of their own rooms.

Project completed in July 2019.

The Chow Kit Hotel by Ormond Group

Under OUR ArtProjects, we were given the opportunity to work with Studio Tack, a New York based design studio, and ECML Hotels for the curation of the artworks at The Chow Kit Hotel. The hotel embraces the old and new Kuala Lumpur, each space blossoming into another space, each one crafted with a distinct persona, but tied together by a sense of intimacy, elegance and undeniable, Malaysian flavour.

The artworks featured in the hotel have been carefully selected and commissioned to reflect the the different stories of Malaysia and its people. Guests will encounter artworks by local emerging artists,  established artists as well as artworks from the private collection of Dato Seri Kalimullah and Mr. Lim Kian Onn.
